VISITING FACULTY
Atashi Bhattacharya is a distinguished Visiting Faculty member at Sister Nivedita University, contributing her expertise to the Mass Communication and Journalism department. With a diverse academic and professional background, Atashi specializes in Mass Communication, Media Laws and Ethics, and Anchoring, while her specific interests lie in Film Studies, Communication Theories, and Cultural Studies.
Her journey into academia spans over 11 years, where she currently serves as a State Aided College Teacher (SACT) at Surendranath College for Women, Kolkata. Prior to this, she spent 2 years as a Guest Faculty at Sister Nivedita University, where she continues to enrich students with her deep knowledge and practical insights. Her commitment to education is reflected in her ongoing pursuit of academic excellence and her dedication to nurturing the next generation of media professionals.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Atashi brings valuable industry experience to her role. She spent 1 year as an English Presenter at All India Radio (Kolkata), where she honed her skills in broadcasting and communication. This practical experience complements her theoretical expertise, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of media practices and ethical considerations in the field.
